History

Where it all started

The company was founded in 1953 by Louis Luyckx. Its principal area of activity was forestry, but this was quickly expanded to include selling agricultural machinery in the Antwerp region.
In 1963, Luyckx became the official importer of the Pesci brand of tractor-mounted cranes, and with this it extended its activities to the national level. More and more products were added to the product line, and the activities were ever expanded.

In 1967, the exclusive dealership of Hydromac Hydraulic excavators started. With this product, the company was able to build a loyal clientele. The actual big expansion and growth of the company started in 1982 with the exclusive distribution of Hitachi excavators for Belgium and Luxembourg.

Increasing growth led to the transformation of the company into a public limited company in 1979, with the name Firma Luyckx NV. To assure rapid customer service, an independent branch was established in Izegem in 1998.
The company has in the meantime developed into one of the largest national distributors in the civil engineering, goods handling and agricultural sectors.
The total area of the company’s sites is presently 7 hectares, with a building coverage of 18,000 m².

For several decades already, Luyckx has taken a proactive approach to constantly changing market conditions, in order to remain flexible and continue to provide good after-sales service.
Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with our customers has always been one of our primary objectives, and it will continue to be so in the future.
